Material: Recycled paper
To remember is to accumulate. To store. To restore. Again and again. To experience and restore. To desire to leave a mark. Footprints.
In the beginning were memories, and design was the language used to translate memories to material.
The choice of paper projects our need to engrave words, to preserve them for posterity. What once was a newspaper or journal becomes something new.
The bowls hold a message, they are symbolic of our cultural and personal experience. The bowls are handmade, fashioned from paper cut into shapes placed to form a pattern. Each bowl is unique, a fractal made of memories and containing memories. Together they represent the stratum of human memories.
